Advanced coaching is coming to Evergreen Curling Club this fall.

Renee SonnenbergRenee Sonnenberg is a two-time Alberta Provincial champion, a two-time provincial junior champion, and was the coach of the 2010 Danish Olympic women’s team. She is one of the best coaches in Canada and currently works with the Canadian national team.

Les Sonnenberg is an accomplished curler is his own right and has qualified for the Alberta Provincial championships and beaten some of Canada’s best Men’s teams.

The clinic is open to all and is divided into three groups.

The Level 1 group will focus on proper fundamentals of setup, delivery and sweeping. It is especially well suited for curlers who have played fewer than 25 games.

Two Level 2 groups (one Early and one Late) each provide over 7 hours of instruction best suited for more experienced curlers who are looking to improve all parts of their game, including delivery, sweeping, strategy and team dynamics. Both Level 2 groups meet on Friday evening for 1-hour of off-ice introduction and strategy preparation and 1-hour of on ice instruction. Then each group will have a 4-hour session on Saturday and a 1-hour session on Sunday.

The Sonnenberg Clinic is open to all curlers, no ECC membership required.  Check back in late summer for registration information.
