ECC's Curling 101 is a 5-week instructional series followed by a coached league, providing in-depth instruction in the basics of the sport with a goal of allowing students to join other leagues within the club and feel comfortable doing so. Some sessions include a league that mixes with some experienced players.
The course will cover curling etiquette, roles, delivery, sweeping and strategy. The lesson series features both off-ice and on-ice instruction and some coached game-play. This course is designed for adults and mature teens. Youth should checkout our juniors programs.
No experience necessary, and the instruction presented in this league is appropriate for curlers with up to 2 years of experience. Lesson series are typically offered on Mondays from 7:15-10:00pm (or until people tucker out) or Sundays from 10:45am-1:30pm.
Due to the covid-19 pandemic, Curling 101 is on hiatus until 2021.
Completion of Curling 101 is recommended for new curlers (but not required) before curling in a member league. Completion of a 2-hour introductory (Learn-to-Curl or similar) lesson is recommended.
